Official FFXIV: ARR Character Creation (Alpha)

Yep, good ladies and gentlemen... first official video of the character creation for the Alpha test posted on the Lodestone.

Definitely have a look and to reduce the volume of my blog's BGM music, simply use the dashboard at the far right of the screen (volume control is at far top right corner of dashboard).

Also, as you all know, the final countdown to November 10th has started (for the final curtain call for version 1.0)...

This is also one of the reasons why the signature tune for my blog was swapped back to an acoustical flute version of "Now We Are Free" (originally by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard) which was the soundtrack to the excellent Gladiator movie.

I believe the tune reflects how much we (players and developers alike) have all evolved from our experiences in 1.0; and how we are now free to fiercely evolve to 2.0.

And we will go out fighting like this...

PS3 screenshots for FFXIV: ARR makes debut

Indeed, good ladies and gentlemen... Gamer Escape efficiently got their hands on the latest images for the PS3 version of FFXIV 2.0 (swift credit to them for getting their mitts on this) and I think one of the first things that pop out are not only the quality of the graphics but the clarity of the interface...

Also got some spiffy concept art as well.  Hold on... oi oi mate... bloody 'ell, that's Hein from Final Fantasy III,  innit???

And what is this next image about?  Hein's lair?  Concept art for linkshell or Free Company housing?  Remnants of the city of Sharlayan perhaps?   Or maybe even a sunken Ishgard?

Well, to be honest it looks too small to be Ishgard but like I've said in the past, I'll be mighty pissed if we don't get Ishgard to explore in ARR...

Chocobos in AF gear... I wants the Dragoon one for sure... and I wants the Grand Company flag thingy returned for their back because my chocobo gets the chills (now and again) in foul weather.  Plus, that spiffy red Limsa flag was just the best...

And of course, a reprint of Levithan and Odin...
