Egi-citement... and Elevators.

Yes indeed, ladies and gentlemen... Bayohne has again unleashed some news on the Dev blog, using the new terminology for the Summons... "Egi".  Personally, I like the current smaller sizes of the summons or "Egi"... can you imagine several summoner players using original sized Ifrits all trying to fit on your monitor screen?  That would be highly irritating.  Yep.

Perhaps we may be given the option to make them gradually "upgrade" their sizes and/or abilities in three or four stages (kinda reminds me of the dynamics of the PS2 game "Chaos Legion").  Anyway, I'm really liking the emerald look of the Garuda-Egi...

If I remember correctly, Yoshi-P already explained that the term was derived from the "Garuda-Egi" mob from FFXII.  It was a hunt mark found outside the Bur-Omisace mountains... kinda remember that part of the game well because it was the location where one of the Judges made an exhibition of the Archardian Empire's might.  Yep, that truly was one of the turning points in the game; and as the bad boy Vayne had rightly declared shortly afterwards... "And so, House Solidor lives on".

Well... enough rambling and reminiscing... because Bayohne also posted up some spiffy pics of some  advertising poster material for FFXIV:ARR (likely in some popular shopping malls in Tokyo?).  And I gotta say... I really do want one of those...

Letter From the Producer XLVIII

The legendary Yoshi-P has again released his latest inspiring letter exhibiting some wicked screenshots of the primal Titan...

Yes yes yes... we likes it a lot, no doubt.  And I know I updated the blog a couple days late but I was seriously busy with some RL stuff.    That said, the letter is not the only thing that was released because  Square Enix  not only added some interesting images about the collabo between FFXIV:ARR and Lightning Returns ... but also gave us some awesome wallpapers to download to celebrate having passed the 1 million mark for beta applications... (CLICK HERE!)

And lastly, the official release of Yoshi's Live letter VII was uploaded on the Lodestone (and on SE's official you tube channel).   As per Emily and Audrey's request, I'll make it easier and just embed it right here for you lovely ladies (hope you're enjoying Berlin!)...

Right then, hope that has managed to appease all and sundry... and thanks again for the few emails of encouragement for my blog and support for the game in general.  Keep spreading the word about this awesome game and until later, be well everyone.

Bayohne unleashes... the Topaz Carbuncle!

Yep... he just updated the Dev blog today with a few new images of the Carby summon for the Arcanist job class.   Guess this is Carby's look when he's on fire... or something.

Looks spectacular innit? Square Enix also released a new official video showcasing some of the dungeons...

A Tour of Eorzea, Part 3...

...It has Coerthas, it has surprises, it is spiffy, it is gorgeous, and it does not disappoint.

There is also the new official commentary guide on the Duty Finder feature which is just genius..  Basically, Yoshi and his Dev Team have now established an excellent method to allow all players to play missions or quests together across worlds...

Yes indeed, it has been a wonderful July 4th and I'm thoroughly chuffed about both videos.

Lastly, the legendary lore Grand Master Ferne also added a few new spiffy images of the FFXIV Live Action commercial currently in the works (due to be released sometime just before launch)

Ahhh yes, our great Sensei Louisoix...
